Welcome to Ability 2 Play: Sensory-Friendly Play

If you’ve ever wished for a play space that feels fun and manageable…you’re in the right place.

Ability 2 Play was created to give families in Garner, Clayton, Raleigh, Fuquay-Varina, Knightdale, and surrounding areas a place where kids can move, explore, and connect — without the overwhelm that often comes with big, noisy play environments.

We believe play should feel joyful, supportive, and confidence-building. And that’s exactly what we’ve built.

What Is Ability 2 Play?

Ability 2 Play offers sensory-friendly open play sessions and small-group classes designed to help children:

  • Build coordination and strength

  • Practice turn-taking and peer interaction

  • Grow confidence in new environments

  • Explore movement in a structured, welcoming space

Our programs are thoughtfully designed by occupational therapists — but they don’t feel clinical. They feel like play.

Because they are.

Why We Created It

As therapists and parents, we’ve seen how many children thrive in smaller, structured groups. We’ve also seen how overwhelming traditional play spaces can be for some kids.

Ability 2 Play bridges that gap.

Here, children can:

  • Climb and challenge themselves

  • Engage in hands-on sensory activities

  • Practice social skills in a supported way

  • Take breaks when they need to

It’s a place where kids can show up exactly as they are — and leave feeling proud.
